Bernard Corbett was the organist at St Mark’s in Staplefield for 28 years and to show the parishioners appreciation for his long service they collected a fund to enable him to be presented with a gold watch. The presentation was made by the Archdeacon of Lewes.
Mr and Mrs Corbett lived at Rosedene, Upper Common.
The photograph shows, from the left, Ron Charlton, Mrs Lilian Corbett (1893-1972), Bernard Corbett (1900-1971), The Archdeacon of Lewes, and Rev, Douglas Polhill.
