St George's Day Parade-1st Slaugham Troop (2 of 3)

Further to picture #2407, the St George’s Day parade has reach Slaugham to be welcomed by distinguished persons from the scouting fraternity gathered to take the salute.
Local persons represented are Mrs Eveline Warren, President of the 1st Slaugham Group of Scouts, and Roger Ray, Group Chairman. They are third and sixth in the line up.
The Large Version shows an earlier view as they await the parade. It is good to see the village shop and post office still open, but alas its days were then numbered.
Select Open Document to view a newspaper cutting of the parade.
Below the cutting is another picture of the group. The scout leader has taken his place on the rostrom and the parade must be coming through the white gates at the top of the village!
