Hoadlands housing development in Handcross

Building works continues apace at the latest housing estate being constructed in Handcross.
The site was mostly used for an earlier village bypass which passed in front of the school and then veered off to the west to pass under the newly-completed bridge. With the later re-routing of the A23 the land became available.

The plans have been altered since being first submitted but I think the final plan to be agreed comprises 102 residences. I note that the planning application gives the names of the roads and the numbers of houses which will use each address as being Thompson Way (38), Hamish Way (11), Buckingham Gate (5), and Long Lane (48).
The above photograph shows the view from behind the doctor’s surgery looking to the west.
The Large Version shows a forest of scaffolding poles on the development looking to the south from a position near Hoadlands Cottages. The row of trees on the left of the picture is to the east of the road bordering the recreation ground.
