Handcross Hill

This is another view looking down Handcross Hill. Similar views of the hill can be found at picture #81, picture #82, and picture #83.
The frst two pictures are taken in the top half of the hill and show the telegraph poles on the west side of the road, whereas the other two were taken in the lower half and the poles are on the east side. Will we find a picture of where the wires crossed over?
The nearest pole in the above picture is a double one and the erection of a similar post can be seen at picture #2339.
It must have been a major exercise to install a large network of telegraph poles. The whole operation from felling forest trees to completed roadside installation must have created hundreds of jobs throught the country.
