Welcome to the Slaugham, Handcross, Pease Pottage, Warninglid and Staplefield Archives
The collection contains 3223 pictures of the Slaugham Parish in Sussex which comprises Slaugham, Handcross, Pease Pottage, and Warninglid, and also those of an adjacent village, Staplefield.
Many are images from a bygone age; some are images from present times. New images are always welcome. Images can be viewed by YEAR, by ALBUM, by GROUP, or by VILLAGE, or you can use the simple SEARCH, or ADVANCED SEARCH.
If you want to check on new additions to the site since your last visit, use the LATEST ADDITIONS link above to see what has been added recently.
Many of the images can be viewed in a “Large Version” by clicking on the magnifying glass symbol. Clicking on the image will further enlarge and reduce it. The F11 button on the keyboard will enable the image to be viewed in “full-screen”. Press the same key to exit.
When viewing the pictures please leave your own comments using the form at the foot of each page. You may know a face, a date or a story about the photograph. In this way it is hoped to build up an extensive collection of information, reminiscences and anecdotes, and to make any corrections necessary. There are 2791 comments on the site at present.
You can upload your own images directly using the form further down the page. You may find it easier to send me the photographs by email with appropriate comments. Please scan in a fairly high resolution (at least 600 dpi) so that, if desirable, I can use the "large version" facility. Please give the date of the picture; estimated if necessary.
If you have any suggestions, or you wish to upload a photograph or comment by email, please contact Barry Ray at info@slaughamarchives.org
