Vanguard omnibus accident (5 of 10)

This is another photograph of the funeral procession for some of the victims of the Vanguard accident on Handcross Hill. The street is very narrow and there is barely enough road for the hearses, spectators, and others in the procession.
The Large Version shows a close up.
Select Open Document to view various motoring memories of Mrs Ethel Margaret “Meg” Carter (née Kensett) (1898-1951), formerly of the shop at Slaugham. The Vanguard accident is recalled, of course, as are stories relating to the early motoring days with vehicles passing through Handcross with a red flag carried before.
It seems that she typed out her memories herself.
