Florists shop in Horsham Road, Pease Pottage

The photographer has a couple of residents watching him from their gardens. The single-storey extension to the house on the right overlooking the Black Swan car park used to be a shop mainly selling flowers to the day-trippers on their return from the seaside.

Comments:
There is still a florist in the village operated by the Haynes(?) family, who were running the business in the 1960s.

The flower shop is now run by my younger brother, Tim Haynes. The house in the photo was not a flower shop but a cafe for the day trippers when on a very busy day there would be up to 100 coaches stopping for tea, beer, food and, in the evening, flowers sold at my father's shop opposite this house.
